During the night to 26 October 2026, one of our sites experienced a power failure. As this site has no uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or backup generator, the router and modem went offline immediately.

When mains power was restored, a voltage surge caused a hardware fault in the modem. Since then, the internet connection at this site has been down.

Current status

  • The cause has been identified: a modem damaged by a power surge.

Next steps

Once service is restored, we will review additional safeguards such as surge protection and a UPS for the network equipment to prevent a similar outage in the future.
