Router failure in Smolyan after power outage: services moving to backup server
As a result of the power outage, the router at our Smolyan site has failed. We are working hard to restore service. Services with an existing backup will be migrated to an external backup server; services without a backup will remain on the maintenance page for now. We apologise for the inconvenience.
In the course of the disruption at our Smolyan site, the router has failed. The failure is linked to the power outage; the exact technical cause is not yet known and is being investigated.
We are working on restoration
Our team is on the way to a solution and working hard to restore the site's network connection and bring normal operation back step by step.
Migration to an external backup server
To restore affected services as quickly as possible, we are temporarily migrating certain services to an external backup server:
- Services with a backup will be restored from that backup on the external server and run there for the time being.
- Services without a backup unfortunately cannot be moved in advance. They will remain on the maintenance page until the site is fully reachable again.
- We will announce separately and shortly which services are affected and when they will be available again.
Power redundancy: we are upgrading
This incident has shown that the site was not adequately protected against power failures. We are currently upgrading and reviewing how to make the power supply redundant in future – for example with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), surge protection and a backup power solution – so that an outage like this does not happen again.
Our apology
We sincerely apologise to all our customers and partners for the disruption and inconvenience. We know you rely on our services. We are working hard to restore full operation as quickly as possible and will keep you informed here at every step.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
